Employment Group Sessions

At Today’s Family we believe in the power of the community.  One issue often facing our clients is the sense of isolation they are experiencing as they confront job search issues and barriers to employment.  By bringing diverse clients together in a group setting all the members are energized by individual successes. Disappointments become a learning tool to examine attitudes and behaviors. Each group of clients discovers that while everyone may have a different story, they all share the same dreams: success, stability, and self sufficiency.

Our groups meet on a regular basis for a few hours at a time. Members move in and out of groups as their job status changes but all are encouraged to participate in either our employment search group—geared specifically for those looking for work—or our employed group—which focuses on the issues of job satisfaction, retention, and work-place politics. In both groups, there is an emphasis on building resiliency and maintaining a positive outlook while going through some of life’s more challenging transitions.
